Bowling has come a long way over the last century and Bowlero Corp’s portfolio of brands, led by its lead center brand, Bowlero, has completely revolutionized the bowling industry. From upscale amenities to inventive food and beverage offerings and interactive arcades and amusements, Bowlero has upgraded the bowling experience and has seen overwhelming success. What hasn’t changed? The shoes. That is, until now.

The #BeBowled: Shoe Design Challenge will give the country’s aspiring designers the chance to put their creative talents to the test as they redesign an American classic and launch a new shoe for a new era in bowling entertainment.

Here’s how it works! Starting NOW, contestants can officially enter their design submissions online at www.bowlerocorp.com/designourshoes. Contestants can submit their best designs by April 16th when the submission window officially closes. In late April, five finalists will be announced and in late June they will be flown to New York City to see their designs live during an epic fashion show set on the lanes at Bowlmor’s Times Square flagship location.

What’s at stake? A cash prize of $2,500 and something way more important: Legacy. The winning designer will see her or his shoe professionally designed, produced, and distributed to more than 75 Bowlero and Bowlmor locations nationwide, rolling out in 2019.

“Bowling is the ultimate American pastime and the shoes that go along with it are iconic, but outdated,” said Colie Edison, Chief Customer Officer for Bowlero Corp.

“This contest will inspire designers to reinvent the bowling shoe just like Bowlero has reinvented the bowling business,” Edison continued. “We can’t wait to see all of the bold new shoe designs!”
