Studio 10 Tampa DIY Easter Basket

I had so much fun today on the Studio 10 Tampa Show making a DIY tutu Easter basket. Easter is such a sweet holiday to share with family, friends and children. It’s religious significance is special but it’s also a day filled with magic as the Easter bunny appears alongside Easter bonnets, people dressed in their Sunday best, and of course the traditional Easter egg hunt which calls for a fanciful Easter basket to collect all your darlings sweet finds in! I have always loved making an Easter basket for my daughter and now it’s time for you to learn how to make one yourself.

Supplies: Basket, Tulle in desired color or colors, Ribbon (at least 4 yards), Silk flowers, Other desired embellishments such as crystals, buttons, vintage jewelry, Glue Gun with Glue Sticks, Scissors, and Spray paint in your desired color.

Step One: Spray paint your basket your desired color and let dry.

Step Two: Cut your tulle into 12” x 4” strips.

Step Three: Using two layers of cut tulle at a time use a crochet needle to pull your tulle through the slots in the basket and tie with a simple slip knot. Repeat this step around your basket alternating colors.

Step Four: Use your scissors to trim your tulle around your basket so that it is even.

Step Five: Embellish your basket with silk flowers, ribbon bows, buttons, vintage jewelry pieces around your basket and the basket handle anyway that you like. I love to add a few Swarovski crystals with my glue gun when I am finished for a little added touch. Get creative and have fun making it your Easter basket for your little darling to treasure forever!
