Don’t have time for a hair appointment? Relax and Touchback

unnamed-2

For some reason, whenever I make a hair coloring appointment (months in advance), something always happens that it needs to be postponed. OK, one week I can handle, maybe two weeks but my grays won’t wait. Thanks to TouchBack Instant Temporary Color, I can relax. TouchBack has a line of temporary hair colors that really get the job done. I have used TouchBack Plus Non Stop Color System and Touchback Markers in the past and got the same fantastic results using TouchBack Instant Temporary Color Depositing Shampoo and Depositing Conditioner. I found TouchBack at CVS, the Shampoo and Conditioner are reasonably priced at $19.95 for the set.

This TouchBack System is easy to use, simply apply the shampoo, Leave on for a few minutes and rinse off. Next, apply the conditioner, leave on a few minutes and rinse off. You will notice absolutely no smells and is formulated without using harsh chemicals like ammonia, sulfates or peroxide. TouchBack Instant Temporary Color gives your gray a boost of color, just enough for the grays to fade away. You will notice your hair shiny and soft. The color will last through 3 shampoos which for me, will be enough time to get my permanent color done.  You can use TouchBack on chemically treated or natural hair. You won’t be disappointed with TouchBack, you will be able to relax once your grays have faded away, at least temporarily.

Create the “Un-Wave”

January, 2016 (New York, NY) – The un-wave is the new wave in town, it may look like it just organically appeared, but it takes a little bit of effort to look so effortless. Ruth Roche, Artistic Ambassador for Pureology Serious Colour Care, says it’s so easy anyone can do it and proves it by showing Courtney Bright from darlingtwo.com how to create the look with (GASP) hot rollers. That’s right, break ‘em out! DIY Video:

unnamed-2

“The un-wave is not a beachy wave nor is it straight, but it’s the texture of the moment and is the added touch any style needs to be current,” says Roche.

The Un-Wave
· Hold Pureology Sea-Kissed Texturizer Salt-Free Tousle Mist 12” from hair, spray entire head and then blow dry in for texture.
· Starting at the top front of the head, create section with fingers, spray section with Pureology Sea-Kissed Texturizer Salt-Free Tousle Mist again, comb out with fingers and wrap the roller around section so it’s tight to the head and the ends are left out and pin roller to secure. Do the entire top of head.
· For the sides, create section with fingers, spray with Pureology Sea-Kissed Texturizer Salt-Free Tousle Mist again and roll one of the larger rollers up in the hair and just hold for 10 seconds. Then, unroll the hair and scrunch it so the while it cools more texture is being created.
· Once the sides are finished, take out all the top rollers and starting at the ends, use fingers to break up the wave, roughing up the texture at the same time.

From the PROS: Do you know what’s in your toothpaste? Why you should!

7c8e18_28b5950e66fa58289c06bad11a20e83c

COCONUT GROVE, FLORIDA– (January 18, 2016) – Each year, consumers spend around $20 billion on cosmetic and personal care items, with many of those purchases going to oral hygiene products. After all, we are a nation of people who strive to brush our teeth at least twice per day, floss daily, and use mouthwash. What we use to do this task is often something we don’t give a lot of thought to, but it can actually make a big difference when it comes down to the ingredients in the products.

“There are so many choices today that people often don’t know what to look for,” explains Dr. Bruno Sharp, a fourth-generation dentist who created a line of natural oral care products called Dr. Sharp Dentistry. “Plus, manufacturers can be clever in making it look like their products are a great choice, when really they contain harmful chemicals. The best way for consumers to keep them and their family healthy is to learn all they can so they can make informed choices when choosing products.”

Many toothpaste brands contain ingredients that may be health hazards or go against consumer values. When looking at the ingredients list and overall product, there are some things people should be aware of, including:

Most people have been led to believe that fluoride is a good thing to be in oral hygiene products, yet fluoride consumption has been linked to such health issues as hypothyroidism. To learn more about these adverse effects, visit www.fluoride-free.com.
Artificial colors and flavors. Many toothpastes that are created for children contain artificial colors and flavors in an effort to get them more interested in using the products. These artificial colors and flavors are not healthy for the children to use.
Non-BPA free bottles and tubes. There has been a lot of news regarding the health problems that may be associated with plastic that is made with the BPA chemical. Consumers are better off opting for a product that does not have BPA in the packaging.
Harmful ingredients. There are some ingredients that are used in some toothpastes that should be avoided, including sodium lauryl sulfate, parabens, alcohol, triclosan, DEA, gluten, and propylene glycol. Plus, some toothpastes use genetically modified ingredients, so it’s best to look for one that is non-GMO.
Products that are not cruelty free. Most consumers are not aware of the fact that many of the oral hygiene products they are purchasing have been involved in animal cruelty, such as animal testing, or may contain animal-based ingredients. The good news, is that there are products on the market that are PETA certified cruelty free and vegan, so they do not contain any animal products at all.
“Brushing our teeth is something we do daily throughout our lives, so we have to get the products right,” added Dr. Sharp. “If we choose natural products that are safe, we will be helping to protect our health. It just comes down to knowing what to look for and what to avoid.”

Dr. Sharp created a line of oral hygiene products to give people a healthier alternative. His product line includes wild berry kids toothpaste, fresh mint with green tea adult toothpaste, fresh mint mouthwash, and dental tape. All products are safe to use, and are gluten free, have no artificial colors or flavors, are vegan, non-GMO, alcohol free, fluoride free, and cruelty free. Plus, they help whiten teeth and have xylitol, which is a natural sweetener that also helps to fight off cavities. The products are safe for the entire family. The products will be showcased at the Natural Products Expo West in March 2016, in the “hot products” section. Top Hairstyles for Every Hair Length That You Can Try Today

unnamed

A good hairstyle complements your dressing and boosts your confidence. Fashion is from head to toe and hair is a very significant part of it. Finding a hair stylist who can get your hair to look just the way you want it (or saw it online) can be quite difficult. If you have asked yourself “how can I find hair salons near me?” then the hair salon directory is what you are looking for. If you are looking for inspiration for your next haircut, the following are the top hairstyles for the three hair-lengths; short, medium and long.

Short hair

There is often the notion that short hair has limited styles. Contrary to this, there are so many things you can do with short hair like coloring it, curling it or adding in extensions. The three most popular hairstyles for short hair include:

– Camren Bicondova, a young American actress, is the ambassador of short curly hair. This look is great if you want to maintain a young and fun look. You may need a bit of mousse and hairspray if your hair is not naturally curly.

– Jaime Pressly has been rocking it short and straight and killing it. The back of this cut is usually tapered close to the scalp and can be worn with bangs or a side part. Sleek and shiny with bold color looks great with this cut.

-Short hair can also be wavy with a tapered cut that is short and shaved close to the scalp at the back and longer at the front. This style has a variety of cuts, quite popular with celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Jenifer Hudson.

Medium length hair

Medium length here is also popular today, especially with the short messy bob. The term ‘messy’ is used quite loosely as there is a lot of effort that goes into making it look as good as it does. From Jennifer Lawrence, Beyonce and even tailor swift, the messy mane has
been worn in various ways to create a chic and trendy look that works for any occasion. You can add a twist to this look with highlights or two-toned color. Flamingo pink and blond has been one of the best combinations so far as worn by Katy Perry.

Long Hair

It is hard to go wrong with long hair if you choose between one of the three acceptable ways to wear it: curly, wavy or straight. The choice of curls, waves or straight hair often depends with the shape of your face. Nice and neat waves look great on long hair, so if you are going to curl it make sure they are tight and neat. If you have a messy mane, you can
tame the frays in a side or back fishtail, tie it up in a messy bun or style it up in the classic French twist for a dressy event. Straight long hair can be tricky if you do not know how to wear it right. A slick bun is one of the trendiest ways of wearing straight hair.

Bio

Brenda Hynes is a fashion stylist who has worked with celebrities before. You need to find the right stylist to help you achieve your ideal look. You can use the hair salon directory to find great hair salons near you.

Simplicity. Multi-functional jewelry… So you can get one piece for any occasion.

Gingersnaps and Smiles

SusanSnaps

Susansnaps are the ultimate gourmet gingersnap cookies filled with deep, dark molasses, the perfect blend of spices, and topped in sparkling sugar crystals giving just the right snap!  Susansnaps were created as a labor of love after Laura watched her husband and daughter, Susan (named for Laura’s sister Sue who died from cancer) undergo chemo within the same year. Ginger is a stomach soother and cookies always bring smiles.  What started as a little idea to bake a few cookies out of the family garage has turned into this mom-daughter duo running the only gourmet gingersnap cookie company in the country. They’re cranking out up to 10,000 fresh baked gingersnaps daily…now, that’s a lot of smiles.

These heavenly gingersnaps and unique mom-daughter entrepreneurs have gained the attention of The Today Show, O Magazine, and ABC World News Tonight with David Muir.  With scrumptious cookies, fancy packaging, and their sweet back story, Susansnaps are distinctively one-of-a-kind.

These decadent cookies  will soon grace the Four Seasons Hotel Gift Bag to honor SAG Award Nominees and talent. Enjoy!
