Ah, the famous “To Do List”.  I’m sure you have one.  I do. The holidays are upon us and it’s the time of year when we are rushing to do this, rushing to do that, and we have so much to do, our list is full.  Between the shopping, working, planning and entertaining, we forget to take care of ourselves.  Everyone else’s needs seem to come before ours. It is time to stop and put YOU on your “To Do List”!   Continue your shopping, get your work done, plan your holiday activities and entertain like no other but give yourself 30 minutes to an hour each day to get your heart pumping and reset your mind.

By getting your heart pumping (aka cardio) you will burn calories as well as decrease stress, increase your energy level, and release endorphins so you can do all the extra things this holiday season with a smile.

Here are a few quick ways you can get your heart pumping (cardio) at least 30 to 60 minutes a day (at least 3 times a week).

1.  Jump rope – 10 minutes of jumping rope equals 30 minutes of jogging (you know I do not jog!).

2. Hula hoop – You can Hula hoop for at least 30 minutes. If you can’t do it for that long, start out with 10 minute intervals and gradually increase to 30 minutes and then eventually to 60 minutes.

3. Boxing – If you have a punching bag, put on your gloves and beat it!  If you don’t, no worries, you can just shadow box. Get in front of the mirror and cross, jab, and hook yourself into a frenzy.  Go at it like you are in the boxing ring 3 minutes and break and go at it again.

Take time for yourself with a quick workout so that you can not only relieve stress, but give yourself more energy and turn your” To Do List” in to a done list!
